Sunscreen comes in two forms. Mineral and Chemical. Chemical sunscreen uses harmful chemicals to block the sun. chemicals that are known to cause cancer. Hawaii, Key West, US Virgin Islands, and Aruba have banned chemical sunscreen because of what it does to the reef. We should also ban chemical sunscreen because these same chemicals get into the bloodstream disrupting the hormone system and cause harm during reproduction and development.
Mineral sunscreen on the other hand has ingredients like zinc and titanium dioxide which are actually good for the skin. Also keep in mind that several minutes a day of full unprotected sun is great for vitamin D and other cancer fighting vitamins.
